Day 33: Training Log

The single leg RDL could help my deadlift because it trains the same muscle groups, just only on one side at a time. So therefore, it is helping your normal deadlift, just in a different way.

When turning in hockey you only use one leg and you must push from that one leg. This is similar to the single leg RDL.

Day 31: Training Log

The choice of who your partner is for partner workouts is big. If you have a partner who is off task, they could pull you off task as well. But also, if you have a good partner, they could push you to work harder.

Personally, I work better on my own. I could see how people could work better with a partner. Maybe when working with a partner they feel more motivated to work harder than them. Me personally, I feel like when I work on my own, I stay more focused and get more done.

Day 22: Training Log

I would rate today’s difficulty a 4/10. I would probably have it at a 2 or a 3 but the running bumps it up a bit.

I would give myself an 8/10 on effort today. I worked hard but I paced myself on the running so that I could work harder with the rest of the workout.

I would replace the ribbons with overhead press. I find they work similar groups, but I find overhead is just a little tougher.

Day 21: Training Log

My hang cleans are improving. I can tell because when catching the bar, I am sat straight up now, instead of slouching over. Also, my low point has gotten lower.

So far this year, I have focused on making my form in all of my lifts better. If I want to lift as heavy as I can, I’ll have to have the best form I can. So far, I have noticed all of my forms have improved and I am looking to keep improving them.

Day 19: Training Log

Today we introduced the single leg RDL. I found it quite hard because doing anything with one leg is tough for me. My balance isn’t very good so anything unbalanced is tough. That being said, I like having a challenge, so I enjoyed this new exercise.

You use your balance everywhere you go, so using balance in class will help me everywhere. In hockey, balance will help me when turning.
